Chevrons are used where a single Turn or Curve warning sign is not enough on its own: sharp horizontal curves, switchbacks, interchange ramps, and curves with a history of run-off-road crashes. Mount the sign at a minimum height of 4 feet, measured from the bottom of the sign to the near edge of the road. Space the signs through the curve so a driver can see the next chevron before passing the one in front of it.
