While you type, the designer checks every length and marks the shortest blade that holds both the name and the arrow at full letter size.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eIs an arrow allowed on a public street sign?\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor the street name sign at the corner (D3-1), the MUTCD describes one case: where a road changes its name at an intersection, both names may share one sign, each with its own arrow. A sign with one name and an arrow is not a standard MUTCD street name sign, so use it on private property, or ask your city or county before it goes up on a public road.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eFront and back\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOn the back, a left or right arrow moves to the other end and turns around, so drivers coming from either direction are sent the same way. A down arrow, pointing at the spot below the sign, prints the same on both faces.
