Write it short

Most people give a sign a second or two. Put the main point in the big text, like RESIDENTS ONLY, and the details, like VIOLATORS TOWED, in the smaller second line. Want an arrow or a road symbol too? You can add one in the same designer.

Picking a size

18" suits walls, fences, and doors that people walk up to. 24" is the usual size on a post in a parking lot. Go to 30" or more when drivers have to read it without stopping.
