The right size depends on road speed, location, and how far away the sign needs to be seen. Smaller sizes are common on parking lots, private roads, and facility roads, while larger sizes are used on public roads, multi-lane roads, and higher-speed areas where extra visibility is needed.
For sheeting, keep in mind that the MUTCD requires fluorescent yellow green for signs warning of non-motorized traffic, including pedestrian crossing signs (W11-2) and school zone signs.
