How long can the second line be?
It runs between the same end margins as the street name. Its letters are smaller, so it can hold more characters than the name above it, and the designer warns you if it does not fit.
Is there a border option?
No. The extruded blade is made without a border line, like the city signs it matches.

A second line of text on our thickest blade
Our extruded blade is the thickest street sign we sell, and this version leaves room for more words. Put a subdivision, campus, or building name under the street name, and we print both faces in 3M reflective sheeting.
- Rigid channel edges along the top and bottom of the blade
- Direction and street type words stay on the top line
- Diamond Grade DG3 available for the brightest night view
How big each line prints
Top and bottom lines share the face: the street name gets 3" capitals on a 6" blade or 4" capitals on a 9" blade, and the line beneath it gets 1" or 1 3/4".
Where two-line extruded signs are used
Universities, hospitals, theme parks, and gated communities pick extruded blades because they hold up to wind and handling, and the second line helps visitors who are looking for a building or a section rather than a street. Public streets need a taller blade for two lines (15" or more under the MUTCD), so this one belongs on private grounds.
A one-line version of this blade is our extruded street name sign.
