Description
The Snap'n Safe Surface Mount is a cast gray iron breakaway anchor that bolts a 2-3/8" round sign post straight to concrete, with no hole to core or bore. It holds the post in winds of 120 mph, and its 360 degree shear point lets the post break away from any direction a vehicle hits it, so the post does not strike the windshield or roof. The base stays bolted down for reuse.
Fits 2-3/8" outside diameter round steel posts from 8 to 16 gauge. A good fit for sidewalks, parking garages, medians and other paved areas.
Installation Notes
Drill three holes in the concrete using the base as a guide, secure the base with the three included bolts, then attach the sign post with two bolts. Installation hardware included. Not for asphalt: asphalt slowly gives way under steady force, so expansion anchors loosen in it within days. Post sold separately.
