Stop Ahead Sign W3-1

The W3-1 warns drivers of a stop sign ahead that may not be visible in time to stop safely. Black stop-ahead symbol on a yellow retroreflective background. Used under MUTCD Chapter 2C where sight distance, road geometry, or high approach speeds require advance warning of the upcoming stop condition.

The W3-1 is made in five sizes. On private drives, plant roads, and parking lot exits that lead to a stop sign, the 18" x 18" and 24" x 24" fit the slower, shorter approach. The 30" x 30" is for single-lane roads. The 36" x 36" suits multi-lane roads, and the 48" x 48" is the MUTCD size for expressways and freeways. Can be paired with the Stop Ahead Plaque (W3-1AP) for enhanced visibility. Sign post, mounting hardware, and brackets are sold separately.
