The R9-3 indicates that pedestrian traffic is prohibited on the roadway. Black pedestrian symbol with red prohibition circle on a white retroreflective background. Used on freeways, expressway ramps, and other roadways where pedestrian access is restricted for safety.

Three sizes are available. The 18" x 18" is for single and multi-lane roads. The 24" x 24" is for expressways. The 30" x 30" provides enhanced conspicuity. Sign post, mounting hardware, and brackets are sold separately.
