The R2-5aP mounts above a Speed Limit sign on the streets entering a city, to show that the posted limit applies everywhere inside the city unless another limit is posted. It is often paired with an UNLESS OTHERWISE POSTED plaque below the Speed Limit sign. Black CITYWIDE legend on a white retroreflective background, per MUTCD Chapter 2B.

Two sizes are currently available. The 24" x 6" is the standard size, matched to a 24" wide Speed Limit sign. The 30" x 9" is the oversized version for larger Speed Limit signs. Sign post, mounting hardware, and brackets are sold separately.
