The R8-3 prohibits parking in the area where posted. The letter P inside a red prohibition circle on a white retroreflective background, per MUTCD Chapter 2B. Five sizes are currently available. The 12" x 12" is for low-volume roads. The 24" x 24" is for single-lane roads. The 30" x 30" is for multi-lane roads. The 36" x 36" is for expressways, or oversized for enhanced conspicuity. The 48" x 48" is for freeways. Sign post, mounting hardware, and brackets are sold separately.
