The R5-12 sign prohibits through traffic on the roadway, restricting use to drivers with destinations along the route. Black NO THRU TRAFFIC legend on a white retroreflective background. Introduced in the 2023 MUTCD for residential streets, neighborhood traffic calming, and roadways where cut-through traffic creates safety or quality-of-life concerns.

Two sizes are available. The 24" x 30" is for conventional roads. The 30" x 36" is for multi-lane and higher-speed roads. Sign post, mounting hardware, and brackets are sold separately.
