Pavement Ends Construction Sign W8-3

During reconstruction the old pavement is often removed well before the new surface goes down, leaving a stretch of gravel or base course. The orange W8-3 gives drivers notice of that change while the project is open to traffic. Black PAVEMENT ENDS legend on an orange retroreflective background, per MUTCD Part 6.

Four sizes are currently available. The 30" x 30" is the MUTCD minimum, allowed only on low-volume rural roads, local streets and roads with operating speeds of 30 MPH or less. The 36" x 36" is the standard work zone size for conventional roads. The 48" x 48" is for freeways and expressways. Paving crews working on private lots can also use the 24" x 24", which is under the MUTCD minimum for public roads. Sign post, mounting hardware, and brackets are sold separately.
