Road May Flood Construction Sign W8-18

Excavation and drainage work can leave a low spot or an open ditch that fills after rain. The orange W8-18 warns drivers that water may cover the road inside the work area. Black ROAD MAY FLOOD legend on an orange retroreflective background, per MUTCD Part 6.

Four sizes are currently available. The 24" x 24" is the MUTCD minimum, allowed only on low-volume rural roads, local streets and roads with operating speeds of 30 MPH or less. The 36" x 36" is the standard work zone size for conventional roads. The 48" x 48" is for freeways and expressways. A 30" x 30" is also made, a size between the minimum and the standard. Sign post, mounting hardware, and brackets are sold separately.
