The W3-3 warns of a traffic signal ahead that drivers may not see in time, for example past a curve or a hill crest. Black traffic signal symbol with red, yellow and green lights on a yellow retroreflective background, per MUTCD Chapter 2C.

Five sizes are currently available. The 18" x 18" is a compact size for private roads and parking areas. The 30" x 30" is the standard size for conventional roads. The 36" x 36" is a larger option for busier or faster conventional roads. The 48" x 48" is for expressways and freeways. A 24" x 24" is also offered, a step up from the compact size for private roads and campus streets. Sign post, mounting hardware, and brackets are sold separately.
