Skewed Railroad Crossing Warning Sign W10-12

Warns that the tracks ahead cross the road at a sharp angle instead of square, so a bike or motorcycle wheel can catch in the flangeway and drivers may misjudge the crossing. The symbol shows the tracks running from near left to far right (MUTCD Section 8B.22). It is always used in addition to the round W10-1 crossing sign, on its own post.

Five sizes are currently available. The 36" x 36" is the MUTCD size for roads, and the 48" x 48" is for expressways or oversized. The 18" x 18" is the MUTCD size where a shared-use path crosses the tracks. The 24" x 24" and 30" x 30" are smaller sizes for private crossings and rail yards. Sign post, mounting hardware, and brackets are sold separately.
