The R4-3 is used on multi-lane through roads where slow vehicles in the left lane hold up the normal flow of traffic. It is placed at the start of the multi-lane section or an added slow-vehicle lane, and at spots where drivers tend to linger on the left. It is not used near interchange ramps. Black SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT legend on a white retroreflective background, per MUTCD Chapter 2B.

Five sizes are currently available. The 18" x 24" is the minimum size, for low-speed roads. The 24" x 30" is the standard size for conventional roads. The 36" x 48" is for expressways, or oversized for enhanced conspicuity. The 48" x 60" is for freeways. We also make a 12" x 18" for private roads and campus drives, which is below the MUTCD minimum. Sign post, mounting hardware, and brackets are sold separately.
