The R2-11 is required at the downstream end of any zone posted with a BEGIN HIGHER FINES ZONE sign or a FINES HIGHER plaque, such as a work zone or school zone. It tells drivers that the increased fines no longer apply. Black END HIGHER FINES ZONE legend on a white retroreflective background, per MUTCD Chapter 2B.

Three sizes are currently available. The 24" x 30" is the standard size for conventional roads. The 36" x 48" is for expressways, or oversized for enhanced conspicuity. The 48" x 60" is for freeways. Sign post, mounting hardware, and brackets are sold separately.
