A hairpin to the right lies ahead when the W1-11R is posted: the road doubles back by 135 degrees or more, so speeds must drop well before the bend. Mark the outside of the turn with a large arrow or chevron signs. Black hairpin curve symbol on a yellow retroreflective background, per MUTCD Chapter 2C.

Three sizes are currently available. The 30" x 30" is the standard size for conventional roads. The 36" x 36" is for expressways. The 48" x 48" is for freeways, or oversized for enhanced conspicuity. Sign post, mounting hardware, and brackets are sold separately.
