The W1-6L is a one-direction large arrow that faces approaching traffic on the outside of a sharp turn or curve to the left, showing exactly where the road goes. It is often placed where a road bends sharply or at the end of a hairpin, set square to oncoming traffic. Black arrow on a yellow retroreflective background, per MUTCD Chapter 2C.

Four sizes are currently available. The 48" x 24" is the standard size for conventional roads. The 60" x 30" is for expressways and freeways, or oversized for enhanced conspicuity. The 24" x 12" is the MUTCD size for shared-use paths. The 36" x 18" is a compact size for driveways, parking lots and private roads. Sign post, mounting hardware, and brackets are sold separately.
