Loose Gravel Construction Sign W8-7

Milling, chip seal and base work leave loose stone on the road, and the orange W8-7 warns drivers and motorcyclists before they lose traction. A Motorcycle plaque (W8-15P) may be added below it when riders are the main concern. Black LOOSE GRAVEL legend on an orange retroreflective background, per MUTCD Part 6.

Four sizes are currently available. The 30" x 30" is the MUTCD minimum, allowed only on low-volume rural roads, local streets and roads with operating speeds of 30 MPH or less. The 36" x 36" is the standard work zone size for conventional roads. The 48" x 48" is for freeways and expressways. A 24" x 24" is also available for gravel work yards and private haul roads, below the MUTCD work zone minimum. Sign post, mounting hardware, and brackets are sold separately.
