One Lane Bridge Construction Sign W5-3

When work closes one side of a two-lane bridge, traffic from both directions has to share the lane that is left. The orange W5-3 warns of that ahead and is usually paired with flaggers, a temporary signal or yield control at each end. Black ONE LANE BRIDGE legend on an orange retroreflective background, per MUTCD Part 6.

Four sizes are currently available. The 30" x 30" is the MUTCD minimum, allowed only on low-volume rural roads, local streets and roads with operating speeds of 30 MPH or less. The 36" x 36" is the standard work zone size for conventional roads. The 48" x 48" is for freeways and expressways. A 24" x 24" is offered too, for temporary bridges on private sites, below the MUTCD work zone minimum for public roads. Sign post, mounting hardware, and brackets are sold separately.
