Right Lane Ends Construction Sign W9-1R

The orange W9-1R is used when a lane closure drops the right lane and traffic has to move over to the left before the merge taper. It spells the message out in words for crews who want text instead of, or in addition to, the Lane Ends symbol sign (W4-2R). Black RIGHT LANE ENDS legend on an orange retroreflective background, per MUTCD Part 6.

Four sizes are currently available. The 30" x 30" is the MUTCD minimum, allowed only on low-volume rural roads, local streets and roads with operating speeds of 30 MPH or less. The 36" x 36" is the standard work zone size for conventional roads. The 48" x 48" is for freeways and expressways. A 24" x 24" is also made for private work zones such as parking lot projects, below the MUTCD minimum. Sign post, mounting hardware, and brackets are sold separately.
