Goes under a STOP sign where all approaches stop except traffic coming from the left, so drivers do not treat the intersection as an all-way stop. The MUTCD recommends this more exact wording over CROSS TRAFFIC DOES NOT STOP where only one approach is free-flowing (Section 2C.66). Black legend on a yellow retroreflective plaque.

Four sizes are currently available. The 24" x 12" is the MUTCD size for conventional roads, and the 36" x 18" is for expressways. The 48" x 24" is the oversized version for large STOP signs. The 30" x 15" sits between the two smaller ones and is offered in High Intensity Prismatic and Diamond Grade DG3 only. Sign post, mounting hardware, and brackets are sold separately.
