The OM1-2 is the black Type 1 marker: its face is black, with a three by three grid of yellow reflective circles. The dark field gives the dots high contrast, which helps on light concrete piers and pale structures. Like every Type 1 marker it belongs on obstructions within the roadway, such as a median nose or a pier between travel lanes.

We stock it as an 18 inch diamond in High Intensity Prismatic. Add pavement markings on the approach as well, since the MUTCD calls for them ahead of any object inside the roadway.
